The theme chosen for my central node is the
tattoos. I choose this theme
because it’s something that I like.
I chose a blog as central node because it’s a platform becoming more and
more popular nowadays. It’s a
platform where I can post and share things with people. It’s like a journal where I can post
everything that I like about tattoos, that is articles, pictures and so
on. It is also easy to update
things on a blog and this activity can be done everyday. Moreover a blog can contain links
connecting the reader to another website.
It’s like a web, there’s a kind of interconnection going on. There are also images, pictures and videos
that could be shared with people.
What is good about blogs is that it takes the form of a conversation, in
the sense that I post something and people (readers) can comment and share
their opinions to which others can reply.
It takes a conversational form, “ Blogs use a conversational style of
documentation.” (Rowse, 2005).
The secondary platform that I’ve chosen is
Facebook, because this is a phenomenon that connects people together. I've created a page On Facebook where
people can feel free to share pictures, opinions and advices about
tattoos. I chose Facebook because
it is a social network where almost everybody has an account. Almost everybody use Facebook now and
this is a good way of talking and sharing interesting information about tattoos,
with people from every part of the world.
Moreover it’s easy to use Facebook. When connecting it to my blog, I will share more information
and this will eventually creating much more circulation and participation on my
blog.
Linking my blog with YouTube is that it helps the
reader to watch interesting videos concerning tattoos. YouTube is also a site where people can
communicate when posting comments or posting videos too. These videos could inspire people and
entertain them at the same time.
Anyone can watch a video on YouTube. It does not only entertain people, it also promotes
creativity and encourages the participation of individuals.
Since it forms part of the web 2.0 it is obvious that it provides a
two-way communication. There are
particular videos about tattoos that could catch the attention of a
reader. “ There is a wide variety
of different videos out there.
There are learning videos, entertainment, comedy, action, music,
marketing and much more.” (YouTube: What Is It and Why Use It?, n.d)
The third platform used is Twitter. This is because information on Twitter
travels very fast. In a blink of
the eye information are being updated.
Twitter keeps people informed about particular things. It’s like micro- blogging, “in essence,
micro- blogging is for people who want a blog but don’t want a blog.”(Nations,
2012). It’s most likely to follow
people, celebrities and so on.
People would be able to follow the famous tattoo artists on
Twitter. It’s a platform mostly
used by youngsters and it is a good tool used to communicate quickly with
them. I believe that it is mostly
youngsters who are going to read my blog.
Famous tattoos artist like Bang Bang who is the tattoo artist of the
singer Rihanna and many other celebrities can be followed on Twitter. People might like to know what he’s
doing and who is getting a tattoo.
I’ve chosen this theme because this is something
that attracts me. I consider it as
being art, like any other paintings and drawings except that it is done on a
human body. I believe that it
embellish the body and that people who have tattoos are those with strong
personality and who are first of all human beings like all of us.
